Silently lives a gentle soul.
Unheard and unattended, who attends every chore.

The whistling of the cooker is spread across the rooms,
But her hues and cries are nowhere.
She doesn’t need an alarm for herself,
But does snooze for everyone.
The house seems to be prick and prank,
But her dripping sweat is seen nowhere.
She is the encyclopedia at home,
Grocery, cutlery, crockery, or upholstery,
Every information she has handy.
She never gets a break officially,
And if she leisurely sips a cup of tea watching the television,
Her mind keeps spinning 360 degrees,
Planning the child’s assignment! Or career tasks!
Or simply the menu for the day!
She knows the likes and dislikes of everyone in the family,
But no one knows what she likes or dislikes.
She is the mediator between father and son,
Beautifully, she connects the two generations.
She is not eligible to fall ill,
As this criterion need not be fulfilled.
Holidays, late and early permissions aren’t there in her contract,
Overtime and festivities are always at her back.
She plays the role of most of the professions,
She is a doctor, a teacher, or a singer at times.
She has the solution for every problem.
She is better than the best,
But always, she is put to test.
She is the mother, sister, wife or a daughter,
Donning perfectly every relation.
Of course!
She is God’s beautiful creation.
Yet, unheard and unseen!
Oh dear woman!
You are an uncrowned queen.
